Beginner and Advanced levels of play appeal to beginning and more established readers.

My daughter Isabella starts kindergarten tomorrow. Its crazy how fast they grow up. I was reading the goals for the year and it seems crazy how many milestones they have to accomplish in just one short school year. I mean , in preschool she learned to count and can identify some letters and by the end of the kindergarten year she is expected to be able to read.

I was really excited to get the opportunity to review the Zingo Word Builder Game. My daughter loves to play games and since she now has a younger sibling, she jumps at any chance to get a little extra attention. She thinks she is playing a game, and I get the satisfaction of knowing that I am helping her reach some of those not so far away goals.

The game starts with 3 letter words where only one letter is missing. Isabella knows some of her letters but not all of them. Since this is the case we cant play the game totally the way older kids do, but it is still very educational. we pull out the letter and I try to see if she knows which letter it is. If she doesn't know then we try to learn that letter. Than I go over what the letter would sound like on each of the options until she finds one she thinks sounds like a real word.

I also like to use the letters as a reference for her to practice writing letters. Since she can see what the letter looks like by looking at the tile, she is better able to write it.

I am hoping by the middle of the school year she will become a pro at the game. Now if they only had one for adults. I know I rely on spell check way too much!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
