Level Foods Peanut Butter Cups and Peanut Turtle Bars Review & Giveaway 12/15

We didn’t hold back on the most important thing of all

Lower impact on blood sugar

Low carbs = minimal impact on blood sugar

Helps you feel fuller longer and satisfies your cravings

Fiber slows the digestion of carbs, helping keep blood sugar steady

The protein-fiber blend reduces sugar absorption and blood sugar spikes

I was recently asked to try out the new Level Foods Peanut Butter Cups and Peanut Turtle Bars and being the chocoholic that I am, I was thrilled. As I have posted before I am insulin resistant. Basically this means that my body doesn't respond well to carbs and I have a high chance of becoming type 2 diabetic if I don't get things under control.

Now, I know you may not be diabetic BUT
That doesn't mean if you are not diabetic that you shouldn't be concerned about how much sugar/carbs you are putting into your system. They are basically the same thing as carbs are broken down into glucose(sugar). When you consume more than your body uses, guess where it goes? Right into those fat stores.

So why am I eating Chocolate?
This chocolate is not your ordinary candy. With 60-80% less sugar than leading comparable candy, that means less carbs and therefore less fluctuation in my blood sugar and insulin levels.

If you are not familiar with carbs, just check the label of any item in your house, you will be amazed at how many grams of carbs there are in so many of the items we eat regularly. One thing that pops into my head would be a piece of bread is 15 grams, and a 16 ounce cola has 48.

The peanut butter cups have 13 grams of carbs and 9 grams of fiber so a net carb of only 4! a leading candy brand peanut butter cup has 23!

The peanut turtle bars have 19 grams carbs and 7 grams fiber, net carb 12. Leading brands 21 and up!

Now the most important question, how do they taste?
The peanut butter cups were my favorite. I really could easily replace the higher sugar cups for these.

The peanut turtle bars are a close second and have a really great silky chocolate, with peanuts and caramel inside
