Help Overseas Troops!

This is a fundraiser that my brother Captain Jeremiah Culp is working on. I am very proud of him and hope you all will help support your fellow countryman that protect and serve.

Even though it shows that the initial goal has been met, there is much more needed to get quality games to our overseas officers that are not able to leave the base, please give and share this post on your social media

Re-Launch
I first want to say that this is a Re-Launch of a previous campaign that was unsuccessfully funded.  I set the initial goal of the first Kickstarter at an ambitious level.  With the support of several publishers who generously committed to sending games of their own, I feel that I can lower the goal of this campaign and still provide a quality library of games over multiple location.  However, because of the lower goal, the wooden plaques will now be a stretch goal. Thanks for your continued support and consideration!!!

MY STORY
I am currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, a place were low ranking military members are not allowed to own cars or drive and must either pay cab fares to get into town or resort to entertainment found on base. This can get quite costly so most do not leave the base during the week and are limited to the entertainment found on the base.

My goal for this fundraiser is generate enough money to buy and maintain three current, diverse board game library that I can provide at three local military bases in order to provide another source of entertainment to those lower income, restricted service members.

All games purchased will be selected based on current popularity and then will be updated semi-annually as new games become popular. Funds will also be used to maintain games, buying replacement pieces and boxes as needed. I will also being using a portion of the funds to host a kick off event at one of the location to help spread the word on the availability of the new games and event.  Games will first be played by myself to learn the rules and depth so I can teach these to new gamers and experienced gamers alike. Additionally, if needed, I will rotate games between locations in order to ensure a diverse and new selection is available at each location.  I will also be supplementing the libraries with my own personal collection to create variety and provide more options for the weekly gaming events.

I have worked out the details with one of the most popular military support organizations on two separate bases to establish a weekly game night with advertising support. Additionally, one of the base libraries has agreed to let me use their space to host a weekly event, and we are currently working on the detail to provide games to them to check out throughout the week.  A room has been dedicated at each location and other activities have been planned to promote the events and spread the word.

Additionally, I am currently working with a couple other individuals who are helping raise awareness and assisting with hosting events, learning game rules, and advertising.  Between us, we look to host as least two weekly game nights.

SO WHY FUND ME
The games that are available at these location currently are those that most of us grew up with.  Cheap games with simple game play.  I want to provide the troops with a great variety of hobby board games.  Most of these games can be quite expensive and while I could use my owe personal collection to host events, the reality is I will not be on this island forever.  My hope is to create a library of games that will be available throughout the week, not just the nights I set up a game night.  Additionally, these libraries will last well past my tour here in Okinawa and will provide years of fun and enjoyment to those stationed far from their families.
